The John H. Enders Fire Company and Rescue Squad is located in the town of Berryville, Virginia. The town has a population of approximately Three Thousand people and is surrounded by rural Clarke County with a population of approximately Eleven Thousand people. As a result of Town and County planning initiative Berryville has become and will continue to be the population center for Clarke County.

Clarke County is located in Northwestern Virginia, at the Northern end of the scenic and historic Shenandoah Valley. Elevation ranges from 375 ft. on the Shenandoah Valley floor up to 1935 ft. in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Berryville is 575 ft. above sea level. The county covers 174 sq. mi. of which 2 sq. mi. is in the Town of Berryville. Though located in what is usually considered a rural area, the company is equipped for both urban and rural emergencies.

Within our first due area we also have numerous multi-story apartment complexes, two industrial parks, railways, a historic downtown Main street and numerous Historic Mansions and Plantations. Also due to County response plans we provide second due Fire and EMS to 85% of Clarke County. We also provide mutual aid to Jefferson County, WV one of the fastest growing counties in the area. Mutual aid is also provided to eastern Frederick County, VA.
